FACILITIES

Barrett & Co. School of Hair Design is located in Kimberly Square Shopping Center in Nicholasville, Ky. The school occupies 4,840 square feet of floor space on the ground level.

The location contains an office, reception area, file room, clinic lab area, student lounge, classroom, dispensary, stockroom, locker room and restrooms.

The clinic lab area is furnished with shampoo bowls and working stations where students work on customers under the direct supervision of an instructor. The classroom is equipped with student desks, television, VCR, visual, aids; such as training tapes, charts, chalkboard and a trico-analysis machine to aid students in the theory of cosmetology.

A private office is available to the faculty for interviewing and consulting students.

8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Clinic Floor Practice
30 minute lunch hours staggered 11-:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
Freshman students attend classes and mannequin practice as assigned.

HOLIDAYS

Independence Day, July 4, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, Dec. 25, New Years Day, Jan. 1. Any days off due to legal holidays are recorded as such. The student receives no time for such days.

UNIFORMS

Students wear Khaki slacks, knee length walking shorts, or skirts and navy blue shirts or sweat shirts imprinted with the school name.

PLACEMENT

Kentucky cosmetology regulations prohibit any Kentucky cosmetology school from guaranteeing employment or placement of their graduates. However, Barrett & Co. will counsel and advise all students concerning available employment and will assist graduates of Barrett & Co. to find employment any time during their careers.

TRANSFER STUDENTS

A student desiring to transfer to Barrett & Co. must notify the school in which he/she is presently enrolled of his/her withdrawal and must complete enrollment documents for Barrett & Co.

TRANSFERABLE HOURS

Any hours obtained in a program offered are transferable from or into another institution with the approval of the Kentucky State Board of Hairdressers and Cosmetologist. However hours are not transferable between programs.

STUDENT PERFORMANCE EXPECTATION

Barrett & Co. satisfactory progress standards for students are based on two equally important factors: grade average and attendance.
1. Maintain a pace of attendance whereby each quarter (450 hours) grading period is completed in 17 weeks. (Part-time students are rated proportionately.)
2. Maintain a passing grade of 70 or better for each quarter (450 hours) grading period. CURRICULUM, ATTENDANCE POLICY, LEAVE OF ABSENCE, ACADEMIC PROBATION, GRADES and GRADING PERIODS, and RULES and REGULATIONS are printed in Barrett & Co.
